There are cult movies that mark a child forever and we never tire of rediscovering. The Goonies is definitely in part. This comedy adventure – in which a group of kids called the Goonies (read the “sausages”) goes in search of a pirate’s treasure – has hardly need to try hard to revive the soul child viewers a tad nostalgic. This is the archetype of the film whose penchant kitsch and dated disproportionately increases the charm and impact – very eighties score by Dave Grusin is also evidence tasty. , Thanks to a simple but captivating story, and thanks to the cast of characters as touching as delusional dotting the work of Richard Donner.
Including Mikey, aka Minus asthmatic dreamer, Bagou, the loudmouth service, Data, inventor of wacky gadgets, Choco (Chunk), the little big band, clumsy, timid and obsessed with food. Not to mention the inevitable Cinoque, so Elephant Man t-shirt Superman! An array of characters that kitsch 80s look and ease of mind makes all the more endearing. After that, we must admit that the story uses shortcuts, facilities, implausibilities eloquent and abusing our credulity to achieve its purposes, in addition to translating a slightly pompous family speech. But the magic that emerges from the Goonies makes all the difference.
As for the players, the game has not be beautiful all the time and just bordering on exaggeration, we must recognize that contributes greatly to the charm of the film. Of Goonies: Sean Astin, Corey Feldman, Jeff Cohen (hilarious in skin Choco), Ke Huy Quan, and others. To the family Fratelli Robert Davi (we will not know if hilarious in the future), Joe Pantoliano, Anne Ramsey and terrible.
Despite its discretion, Richard Donner took the opportunity to share with us his talent. These multiple viewing angles, the play of light, the camera movements treated, managed to compensate for technical deficiencies due to age of film (such as cardboard decorations or special effects aging). Gem fantasy adventure film, The Goonies deserves to be discovered and rediscovered by the smallest and the greatest.
